I've sent the letters to the WH and IV. Hoping for the best.
I, however, have some questions for the senior members of the IV team. Especially for the ones who are active in the lobbying efforts in Congress and the White House. How realistic are the chances for Green card visa numbers relief, even for the longer term? It seems like there are immigrants from 2 countries - India and China who are adversely effected by the low visa numbers. If one is an immigrant for any other part of the world, it actually isnt that hard to get a Green Card thru employer sponsorship. That being the case, do you think Washington would consider this an issue that needs expedient resolution or for that matter an issue that needs a resolution at all?
Dont want to sound like a downer in this inspiring thread, but at the same time, any answers to my question will be greatly appreciated.
In this highly charged anti immigration environment, chances for direct relief could be 50 50. That said, it is possible that the administration is looking seriously into fixing issues in some form or the other.

You have been quite persistent in your efforts to get correct answer from IO.
In my case- when I reached IO using POJ- I was told that case has been predjudicated, and now assigned to IO. How do I get more info than this? Even I have multiple 140-so ,I too am bit worried about that part.

So, ask, can you tell me if my IO has physically scanned my file and picked it up from the holding area? If yes, good.

I-485 Employment-Based Inventory does it include Spouse applications also

If it is not included then we need to take in to account that for every 485 application we will bare minimum have 1 spoude 485 application that requires VISA Number.

Get this: A fingerprint check takes 24-48 hours but a name check takes upto 6 months!!! There are over 8 billion individuals on the planet, and how many have duplicate names? OK, now how many have similar names? And by the way, if you already have a fingerprint, why does name check take so long?
Reminds me of the scene in the recent Simpsons movie, where the government guy jumps up and shouts "Woo Hoo, we actually found someone we were looking for!". The bromide goes that truth is stranger than fiction, but it should be amended to "The truth is more idiotic that fiction".

I didn't get the phone# for USCIS compaint dept. But some one(may be ashres11) posted one phone#18003238603 for DHS. I called that number and it turned out Inspector General office. As i reported earlier. He told me to call regular USCIS 800. I said it's useless. He took some note and asked to call this new number 877-246-8253.

My new theory is the DOS was influenced by politicians who are attorneys (I beleive that there 50% of lawmakers) and it released a huge Visa Numbers. The politicians have strong connections to law firms. The USCIS doesn't want to do it, because it doesn't have 'resources', 'money', 'manpower. So, they are on a near strike mode, not attending routine works like sending receipts., etc in a timely fashion.

Many issues are being swept under the carpet. I had written a few times earlier. The backlog and GC issues are not truly a numbers game. Adminstratively, we we hit below the belt, in backlogs, in delays, in sudden rule changes (no concurrent filings of PD is not current). Legislatively, they are stalling and falling apart. What is left for the immigrants?

Once the CIR went down the drain, they are panicking about the outcome of their tactical error and trying to undo that move.

My attorney says that my h1 is still valid and I should file for my h1 extension and attach I 94 that I got with my previous h1 extension's approval notice.
