I think you meant to say 2800 not 5800. I'm correcting your statement.
So India regular quota for the last six months : 2800/2 = 1400
Since dates have not moved, I am assuming 1400 should also be considered towards porting.
so my conclusion is so far 1200 + 1400 = 2600 porting already took place. (though only 1400 really got GC)

There are two waves of movement going to happen for EB2 this year. One starting in May and the other starting in July.
The 12000 unused visa numbers from EB1 is not the total for the year 2011. It is almost certain that, this is the spillover from the first 2 quarters of 2011. Along with this, there are some numbers from EB2 ROW as well. The spillover will only get applied to all those countries which are retrogressed.
12000 visa numbers would move mathematically the dates to somewhere in Sept 2006 for India and China Eb2. The porting from EB3 to EB2 is still a factor, but that won't exceed more then 1500 (which are ready to be assigned visa).
In order to utilize these 12000 visa numbers, USCIS may possibly consider 15000 applicants so that they will get 12000 approvable, background check free and non-delayed cases.
So, i think for EB2 the dates could move to either Oct/Nov/Dec of 2006.

USCIS decided to take our $604 and give me an my wife APs in 9 days! They seem really efficient when they have to take money from us. But really slow when they have to approve GC applications (EB2, PD of Dec 2004). USCIS just seems to be interested in 'extortion' payments to employ USCIS staff - more a lawless mafia than a organization upholding the law!

I called them again and they said they don;t have more information. Wait for the package which they sent back and call after that if you have any questions.

"Advance parole is an extraordinary measure used sparingly to bring an
otherwise inadmissible alien to the United States for a temporary
period of time due to a compelling emergency. Advance parole cannot be
used to circumvent the normal visa issuing procedures and is not a
means to bypass delays in visa issuance."
If I mention: "I plan to travel outside of USA for family reunion" in the I-131 cover letter, do you think I will got denied because this reason is not "compelling emergency" at all?
How will you ""On a separate sheet(s) of paper, please explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrant issuance of
advance parole." ?

Called the DOS. Told them I need to travel to my home country and asked them if they can verify if my information is in PIMS. She asked if the H1-B is an extension case which it is. She said the extension cases are taking a bit longer than the new ones. That is quite surprising. Finally she looked in the database or whatever and said they do not have my extension information yet. All they have is the information from the expired petition. No timelines just asked me to call back in a week.:rolleyes:

from doing that, what do you think you would achieve by the flowers being delivered at the hospital instead of the USCIS, the point has been made and the Director has acknowledged the effort - That was the end goal and infact the flowers will do more benefit to those in the hospital.
Call the place where you've ordered flowers and ask for a refund if flowers are delivered elsewhere. It should be up to USCIS to recieve and then ship those flowers to the hospitals.

Mine case is labor 06/2002 EB3, I-140 approved.
Spouse labor priority date is 06/2007 EB2, I-140 needs to be applied.
Acoording to my lawyer one cannot have 2 I-485's and though i explained that no such return rule he said its a risk and will get RFE and delays and personally does not recommend.
I am going to check with my wife lawyer on Monday and its well reputed law firm.
Since we both have stable jobs i am probably going to opt for my I-485 which has been already been filed and just file I-140 for my wife's case. Any thoughts ?

I have sent the letters today to WH and IV.
I have also sent group emails to my batchmates from my engg college asking them to join IV. I think everyone should do that - this will help IV to Increase its Memberships.
I had one more suggestion too - (this has recd less support in the past).
we need to put in a statement that many legals are not buying a house because of the uncertainity in the GC process. even the congressmen will be more patient with our cause when we mention housing.

my 485 was filed during Aug 2007 , i had EAD as well that i never used.(EB3)
i joined another firm and started off fresh using old PD, and EB2, which got ported
I had 2 RFE on my prior 485 FOR medicals and EVL. that i answered ( company didnt had issues as long as i was paying for it)
now How do i get my prior 485 to be merged, since its not an easy case, my new firm isnt willing to do so, can i raise SR/IO and try it? is it worth it
Have you asked your lawyer? Check with your lawyer first as you say it is a little complicated. You don't want to mess up this late in the process.....
