01/24/2006: Senate May Table Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bills As Early As February 2, Thursday
Unconfirmed sources indicate that the Senate may table this bill earlier than expected. Since there is the nightmarish Sensenbrenner border protection bill that will come up with the comprehensive immigration reform legislation, it appears that the pro-immigration forces may have to energize their forces and start working on the critical immigration legislation.

Folks,
My wife was stuck in namecheck during the H-4 stamping 3 years back. She gave full FP and got cleared in 6 weeks. Question i have is that i will be filing I-485 in July so is there a chance that she will be stuck in I-485 Name check as well? Anyone with experience? Also, if she get's stuck and I am cleared does the application get's stuck completely?
I was curious about the FBI name check and I read the FAQ on Name check on FBI website, what it says that once your name check is in progress for a particular agency as in our case USCIS, it will reject any duplicate name check for that person. Also it says something about a await period of 120 or 180 days when a second name check cane be done based on the first is cleared and the wait time has elapsed. Check the FBI site and read the FAQ on this.

Just Now, I received a call from congresswomen staff. She was able to get some standard response from NSC via congrees inquiry cell at NSC[she read for me]. Still 26000 application are pending NSC prior to July 17th filer. I asked again and again same question, How they can enter data for Aug first week before July 2nd. What about FIFO? She was repeating again and again what response she got from USCIS. I was able to get I-765 # from her. I asked her how come 765 (LIN#) is possible without 485 data[she don't understand inter-dependency of application]. Stange but something is better than nothing. I will write again for FIFO. I don't want USCIS actions go unnoticed. I will do my part.
I am happy congresswomen staff did some inquiry. I will post when i received copy of USCIS official reponse to congresswomen by post/email.

I have been pretty impressed with both call quality & customer service for ALLVOI. But I have not used Vonage, so cannot compare the two.
I went from spending $130-140 a month on India calls + phone line to $ 14.99. It couldn't get any better :)

My appointment was on the 12-Dec. Visa was approved immediatly - was told I'll get it in 7 days - but haven't received the passport yet 56 days to date. I receive the same response when I call.. that its under PIMS verification. No ETA of when I can expect it to be done..

I see indian comnies will apply for more B1/ B2 visas overseas.
B1/B2 is always prone to reject by 221(b). Wont impact that much.

I strongly doubt your argument. For the past six months , Demand data before Jan1st,2006 stayed zero for EB2 I/C. If USCIS thinks one of those pre 2006 cases are approvable then we would see this reflect in DOS demand data.
At the end of the day, whatever data that is listed in Demand data is all that matters. Since it is the only determining factor for setting VB dates and nothing else

If the job required a EB2 or EB3 but EB3 was filed earlier. Is that possible?
for the same job position it should not be possible. When the employer filed in EB3, the employer must have provided all documentation necessary to justify the EB3 status. If now, the employer has to go back and indicate that the job requirement matched EB2 status, then that indicates something was not done right during the earlier application. That could right away trigger a RFE.

Its not that I think I am smarter or have any additional insight...but I take things at face value. Of course the total number of pending cases in the chart and in the PDF should match - they both are exactly what they say they are "PENDING EMPLOYMENT BASED I-485 cases" If that's what the report title says, that's exactly what it means. No point in over-analyzing if this is just for pre-adjudicated or only primary applications etc....

If companies could survive with GCs and Citizens alone, they would have done it already. The fact is there aren't enough quality resources to be picked from GC/Citizen pool. That is the reason companies are willing to deal with complex immigration laws for hiring a non-immigrant worker.
Of course companies will look for cheaper and easier ways of doing things.( outsourcing route) I agree with puddonhead that threshold for outsourcing is low in these times. Vast majority of outsourcing was initiated during the last recession ( 2000- 2001).

For eg. if you have FirstName MiddleName LastName .
The search should be ( put within quotes )
"FirstName MiddleName"
"FirstName LastName"
"MiddleName LastName"
and all the reverse combinations.
If you get hits in 100s or 1000s , yeah you can wait 2 -3 years.
This is observed from the names of Indians.

Some Rules:

while the value of asset may erode.
Rule 102: House is a secure debt: meaning if you don't pay the house will be repossessed by bank. So you have to pay to play.
Do you know there is no earthquake insurance in California so if you loose your fully paid house in earth quake you are left with ZIP !!!

But, your example is a little bit off as in nobody is asking back money from the mortgage which is already paid (akin to the difference in gas prices that you mentioned), the interest rate could change and we are liable to pay the difference in the mortgage payments due that fluctuation - the thing here is the base value of your asset. As a hypothetical example (because vehicle prices always depreciate, so please ignore the reality), let's say you bought that Gas guzzling SUV at 50k and now suddenly after 2 years, due to whatever reason, you go and try to sell the same SUV to the same dealer and he quotes you 5k. Wouldn't you fault that dealer for selling you the same thing at 50k when the actual value of the same asset 2 year back was 5k (but he sold you at 50k and you have only paid back 10k in monthly installments until now). Who is to blame for that 35k deficit? You? Forget the monthly payments here and concentrate on the actual asset value.
As mentioned above, I do agree that we are liable for what we do in life and one has to stand up for his/her deeds - but at the same time, and I again argue the same point, that the greedy people on wall st. and lending institutions are largely responsible for this mess - imagine if they had never sold you the asset for 50k, which is a bloated amount for that particular asset and the sad part in this is that the lender lends out the money knowing all this.

I think you can go ahead to the HR and just ask for a letter stating that your position xxxx is still available for you and that you are paid xxxx. If not, you may receive a RFE for the letter. I have seen some people not getting a RFE for letters if they attached most recent pay stubs showing they are paid prevailing wage.
