it looks like many folks got their approval one day after filing an SR - coincidence or a trigger? Is filing the SR somehow triggering the IOs to look at your file ?
However, many people who filed SR on the first working day of the month 08/02 were not approved the next day. Also, the many others who bombarded the USCIS with multiple requests/queries had to wait much longer or are still waiting.
It is almost like the IOs didn't like to be bothered on the first working day of this month (when the begin working on a fresh set of files) and also didn't like to be pushed too much.
Or is this all just a super coincidence for hundreds of people?

NO Matter how many people say "Take it easy" its simply not possible, you will have to be a superhuman to do that. Sure its stressfull but no more stressful than boarding your first flight to USA. no more stressful than attending 1st H1B interview at the consulate or your first client interview. So in the end, we have been through all the hurdles with most of us surviving 2001-2002 job markets and now is 2007.
The point is we have been through all that successfully and thats a BIG WIN. So we will be through this too, but not without stress. The day we decided to come to USA and until now we have been successful as we are resourceful and can improvise at a short notice and we will. We are shrewd individuals and We Will PREVAIL.

tracker site data is fake....... tracker site has employees sitting in India...... those employees create fake ids and fake profiles....... then they write post using those fake ids to create an impression that there are lot of people posting on the tracker site...... if you look at title of most threads...... they are framed in the manner that will be inviting most others to write on the thread.......... every few days these employees sitting in India..... using a fake profile ........ start a new thread with a title something like .... 'i got it i got it ' or ' i am green' or something similar..... and using other fake ids the same bunch of employees ask fake questions from op..... who is also a fake handle...... so the data there is totally fake..... that data represents the need of the tracker site to make people to come to their site...... that data does not represent the sample data...... not even close.....

I would go for medical test again just because of PPD test. According my civil surgeons office, PPD test should be with in 6 month when u file 485 otherwise you may get rfe for fresh ppd. Seems these days CIS is very particular about TB test.

If you entered on AP and your I485 is pending, you cannot fell out-of-status as you are being considered in "Adjustment of status" status. This is somehow a special kind of a status. The only problem one may have is if the I-485 is denied for any reason. At that point you fell out of status. That's the reason many choose to enter on h1 instead AP. Then, even if I485 is denied, a person who entered on H1 is still in H1 legal status. Hence, it is generally advisable to enter and maintain an non-immigrant status while i485 is pending.

The reason transit visas are required in the UK is that many passengers with an intention to transit the UK have stayed. The transit visa was introduced as a way of making sure (as much as possible) that the passenger has the intention and the ability to transit the UK and to enter a third country.

Because EB provisions (section 8001) were thrown out of S.1932 because of the differences between key players over the Patriot act. Now that this is out of the picture, at least there is one less thing to worry about.

What Mr. Aytes have proposed is too narrow. He is proposing that applicants whose application is pending due to Namecheck delay will not get the benefit for multi-year EAD. This is not what the current rule says. So asking for implementation of the current rule means asking for multi-year EAD for all I-485 applicants, not depending on whether or not Mr. Aytes is having a good/bad day.
There is already a standing rule since 2004-5. It is now 2008 and he has not implemented multi-year EAD rule. Given their past record, I would prefer that we not depend on their good heart for implementing this change.
One more thing, when thousands of people will write letters and something will get done, orgs like AILA and lawyers like Murthy will claim that they got it done for us :-), for our sake :-). Just wait and watch..... ;)
I think we should not mention the bellow point in the letter which we are going send to the president.

Allegedly, the cost is incorporated in the I-485 filing fee of $1,020. The new regulation uses the term of "fee waiver" for EAD and Advance Parole for these I-485 filers. Now, you guessed it! Lo and Behold, the business calculation on EAD and Advance Parole has reversed. The DHS will lose a huge money by issuing single-year EAD and a separate Advance Prole document on a yearly basis over and over since they are free and they will have to keep producing it at no charge every year, which creates a huge workloads consuming its huge human resources and other production costs. This is particularly unacceptable to the agency under the predicted State Department Visa Bulletin for FY 2008 and in the future. Now, from the business standpoint, the DHS may make a huge money by issuing a multi-year EAD which will also function as a travel document. Ahah! No wonder why they are finally coming forward revealing their hidden agenda behind the new fee rule-making and EAD/Advance Parole reform business. Reportedly, Mr. Aytes of USCIS disclosed in a New York AILA conference that the USCIS was currently working on a single multi-year EAD card that will also replace the Advance Parole document. What a smart calculation it was in the new fee rule-making action

I know that is ACT. But USCIS can interpret the provisions and make adjustments like what we are requesting. Similarly it can , IF THEY WANT TO, include a provision saying the job not only need to be in similar field, but it shall be in the same labor market because that is where you got your labor. I am not saying this is going to happen just because IVs effort.
If the intent of the similar job requirement is not to hurt the local talent because that is that job that is advertised for, the restriction of the same labor market will serve the same purpose.
That is a legitimate doubt and concern for some.

Since when this immigration is a BIG issue in USA...... remember the BIG Rally ?? Some of the efforts with positive intentions may have a negative consequences in the short term or a long term.
The reason I post those strong words is because negative posters seem to influence people's decisions a lot. An example is , right during the rally time, I had negative people calling my wife and frightening her about the rally. She was always confused, and did not understand if she wants to support me for my efforts on mobilization or listen to them. It took a while for us to overcome her confusion. Negative posts and negative influence impact and hinder our efforts a lot. We do not need anti immigrants to cause damage, these negative posters do more damage than anti immigrants. One negaitve post can influence many people, as such it is very difficult to draw people for a good cause these days, people just do not want to cooperate or just are not motivated, negative posters demotivate the fence sitters.
If people are positive and cooperative they influence positively, they set an example for others to follow and that is what all the positive folks do, no matter what the negative influencers say or do, positive people always remain positive and try to guide people through examples.
"needhelp" is a good example of positive motivation - she does everything she can to set an example - if people learn from her - that is what we want

I do not have medical records to prove that I have taken some of the vaccination that is mandatory for the medical test. However, I do have taken those and my Doctor back in India has those records. Is there a way people know that these records in "any format" / a "specific format" can be faxed or fedexed here and can be used?

Your salary is not your personal choice, it is governed by market factors. Company makes the final decision whether they want to pay you what you ask for and whether they need your services. Your client can easily send your job to India if they can hire someone here for 3 months. Most likely that person is going to be back with the job after 3 months.
3. If you screw up , who is responsible? What can you do to mitigate damage? TCS/WIPRO can replace the whole team at free of cost to make project successful. - BS
I work for a major system integrator and I have seen client come to us and say, X did not perform well, give us the money back or provide Y number of free consulting days. I have seen clients come to us and say , we give you 2 more months, deliver this project or else lawsuit, and I have seen company agreeing to client demands. These are additional advantages for going to TCS/WIPRO. I have seen at one client place, they offered 10% of the resources free. So if client took 50 peopkle, they got 5 more for free. Can your company do that? Dont make hollow claims of BS if you are just a simple developer.

Here we are discussing about a violation by companies using L-1B visa resources and we think reporting this to the agencies (ICE/USCIS) and making awareness amoung clients doesn't harm anyone who does their business within the legal frame work.
No we are discussing YOUR jobs loss due to L1 misuse. You were sleeping until it hit you and now you suddenly want sympathy. BTW, I feel sorry for you that any guy from India can come and do your job. Most guys who come on L1 are freshers with not much skills. Thats what is needed for the job then.
